Dominion East Ohio Reports Temporary Gas Flow Interruption
in Powhatan Point Area
Dominion East Ohio reports that, at approximately 9 a.m.
today, a control valve problem with an interstate pipeline caused a temporary
gas flow interruption, affecting an undetermined amount of customers in the
Powhatan Point area.
The problem has been corrected, according to an interstate
pipeline representative. Dominion East Ohio has dispatched additional customer
service representatives from other areas of the company to the affected area,
first, to shut off service, as a safety precaution, and then to relight appliances.
The company notes that Dominion East Ohio representatives need to gain access
to customers’ homes to reestablish service.
If any customers in the affected area should experience discomfort
due to the weather, they may contact the Belmont County Emergency Management
Agency, (740) 695-5984, for temporary relocation assistance.
