Consolidated Natural Gas Declares Quarterly Dividend

PITTSBURGH - Directors of Consolidated Natural Gas Company (NYSE:CNG) have declared a regular quarterly dividend of 48.5 cents a share on the common stock, payable February 15, 2000, to shareholders of record as of January 14, 2000.

Consolidated Natural Gas is one of the nation's largest producers, transporters, distributors and retail marketers of natural gas. The company's natural gas transmission and distribution operations serve customers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, New York and other states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. CNG explores for and produces natural gas and oil in the United States and Canada.
