Dominion E&P Honored by Minerals Management Service
for Safety and Accurate Reporting Practices
HOUSTON and NEW ORLEANS - Dominion Exploration & Production,
Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dominion (NYSE:D), was presented with the
prestigious 2002 Safe Operations and Accurate Reporting (SOAR) award by the
U. S. Department of Interior's Minerals Management Service (MMS).
Dominion E&P has been an MMS national award finalist for
the past five years. Last year, Dominion E&P received the National Safety
Award for Excellence (SAFE) in the moderate activity category, the result of
its employees' exceptional safety record and their performance on its Gulf of
Mexico facilities. The company also earned the SAFE award in 1998 as CNG Producing,
a predecessor company to Dominion E&P.
The SOAR
award recognizes companies that are outstanding in the areas of offshore
operating performance and fiscal responsibility. The MMS considers SOAR recipients
to be among the safest and most committed to timely and accurate financial reporting
of those operating production platforms on the Outer Continental Shelf in the
Gulf of Mexico.
