Dominion Supports Red Cross Disaster Relief With $50,000 Gift
NEW ORLEANS -- The Dominion Foundation donated
$50,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist with recovery
efforts in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isidore and Hurricane Lili.
Dominion presented two $25,000 checks, one to
the Southeast Louisiana Chapter in New Orleans and another to the Acadiana Chapter
in Lafayette. The contribution will be used to provide emergency services such
as food, clothing, shelter, counseling and other assistance to people affected
by the storms.
"People's lives were changed forever by the flooding
and devastation that they left behind," said Tim Parker, senior vice president
and general manager offshore, Dominion Exploration & Production. "Many
of our employees and their families were also victims of the flood waters and
wind damage."
"Dominion is making this donation to the American Red
Cross Disaster Relief Fund because we want to be a good corporate citizen to
aid the people of those areas," Parker said.
