Dominion E&P Honored with Prestigious Award
for Safety and Environmental Practices
NEW ORLEANS – Representing
the best in volunteerism and commitment to her community, New Orleans native
Sue Houston and New Orleans – Dominion Exploration & Production, Inc., a wholly
owned subsidiary of Dominion (NYSE:D), was selected to receive the prestigious
2001 National Safety Award for Excellence (SAFE) from the U. S. Department of
Interior’s Minerals Management Service.
Dominion E&P has been a SAFE Award finalist for the past
four years, one of only two companies to achieve this level of performance.
Dominion E&P won the National Safe Award this year for the moderate activity
category for the Outer Continental Shelf based on the company’s outstanding
safety record and performance at its offshore facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.
The award was established in 1983 to recognize those companies
that achieved outstanding environmental and safety results. Dominion E&P is
a repeat winner, having won the National award in 1998 as CNG Producing, a predecessor
company to Dominion E&P.
