Dominion Offers 10 Per Cent Savings on Electricity
in Cincinnati
RICHMOND, Va. - Consumers in the Cincinnati area
can save 10 percent on the electricity they purchase by signing up with Dominion,
one of the nation's largest energy retailers.
Dominion, which already serves more than 8,000 customers in
the Cincinnati area, is offering one-year contracts through December 2003 to
residential customers who receive their electricity from Cinergy's Cincinnati
Gas and Electric Company (CG&E). Dominion's price is 4.70 cents per kilowatt
hour, about 10 percent lower than CG&E's current price to compare of 5.22
cents per kilowatt hour.
Customers can sign up for the offer by returning a reply card
sent to homes. Customers can also call Dominion directly at 1-866-645-9810.
The deadline is November 29, 2002.
Dominion is licensed by the Public Utilities Commission of
Ohio and approved to make this offer under the CG&E Electric Choice Program.
Under the program, customers will still receive one bill from CG&E. Dominion
will replace CG&E as electricity supplier, but CG&E will continue to
deliver the electricity, read meters, collect payments, provide service and
respond to emergencies.
"The only difference a customer will see is a lower bill,"
said Richard Zelenko, general manager of Dominion's retail energy marketing
unit. "Customers will still receive the same quality service. Ohio's Electric
Choice program is about choice, and savings, for Cincinnati customers."
Dominion has nearly 1 million customers for its competitively
priced natural gas and electricity and its variety of related products and services,
including nearly 280,000 natural gas and electricity customers in Ohio.
Dominion is one of the nation's largest producers of energy
and serves 3.9 million franchise natural gas and electric customers in five
states. For more information about Dominion, visit the company's web site at
