New Dominion Facility In Pleasants County, W.Va., Available For Summertime Demand
RICHMOND, Va. - Dominion
Energy, a unit of Dominion (NYSE: D), announced Friday that both units at the
company's new 300-megawatt generation facility in Pleasants County, W.Va., are
in commercial operation.
The Pleasants facility cost about $125 million and consists
of two natural gas-fired combustion turbines capable of generating 150 megawatts
each. Peaking facilities such as these are designed to operate during periods
of peak demand from customers - typically the hottest and coldest days of the
year.
